behind the scenes dreamworld

proenza schouler has been one of my favourite labels ever since they literally burst onto the scene when jack and lazaro won the first CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund award almost immediately upon graduation from parsons.  the above are photographs tommy ton took of the duo prepping two days before their spring 2011 show in new york.  although i can only judge from a position that is very distant from their world, it really does seem that they love their work.  and it shows in their clothes, which are perhaps the most relevant and thrilling out there.

velvet underground

i have a bit of an obsession with the velvet underground right now.  the video is of the band rehearsing, filmed by the oh-so singular andy warhol and played against one of their best: "i'm waiting for the man".  expand and enjoy.

change of spots

i found a beautiful leopard print coat at a vintage store the other day and, stupidly, didn't buy it right away; when i went back to get it, it had already been sold and i've been kicking myself ever since.  especially when i see photos like this.  fucking fab.
