keep it in the family

a video by artist kenneth anger for missoni's fall campaign. everyone in the film is part of the missoni family, the label being the only that i can think of that is designed and represented by it's founder's descendants. if you look at other powerful italian families (mafia, agnelli), however, it doesn't seem all that uncommon. whoever's in the video though, it's pretty damn cool.

the creators project

i've recently discovered a site called the creators project.

"The Creators Project is a new network dedicated to the celebration of creativity and culture across media, and around the world...The Creators Project has two mandates: on one hand it's a modern day media channel that we will continually identify and celebrate the work of visionary artists wherever they are. On the other hand it is also a content creation studio, an arts foundation of sorts that will facilitate the production and dissemination of new work with these artists and their collaborators."

everyday, the site posts new interviews and videos with artists from all over the world. they exhibit the work and musings of video game producers, musicians, fashion designers, visual artists, filmmakers...any kind of artist you can imagine.

today, one of their features is about fools gold, a record label owned by djs/producers a-track and nick catchdubs, and dust la rock who does their visual art. they've produced a wide variety of music, and had one platinum album, the perennial favourite, man on the moon by kid cudi.

check it out and return everyday if you know whats good for you. thecreatorsproject.com

flower power

christian dior fall 2010 couture. floral prints are over as far as john galliano is concerned. now the point is to wear dresses that, in themselves, look like flowers. pretty fucking fantastic.
